Art with No Boundaries Ezine March Vol. 4 - Guest Artist

I made this as a Guest Artist entry in Art With No Boundaries Online Ezine March Vol. 4 and it's one of my favorites so far! Please go and check out all the other fantastic creations that Chris at CS Designs has made too!

I found this little box with coasters at a flea market and thought it would be a good project for recycling! =)
I wasn't sure what to make of it, after I had given my mum all the coasters, so decided to check through my digis first.

When I found CS Designsbeautiful Anna Wong image I just had to print her out and color her with my promarkers.
Her hair got a brown color, the decorations in her hair are in green, yellow and red tones and a slight touch of pink on her lips.

Then back to the box, I have package of asian style napkins that are well used for crafting, so I cut out a piece and used my decoupage glue to add it to the lid of the box. Since the wood is so dark I had to add two layers of napkins and I really like how it turned out!

I added Anna Wong with my trusty glue and then used a stamp pad to chalk the edges of the lid in champagne. To make sure it wouldn't come off I use a varnish spray and on the areas where it didn't work, I added some more decoupage glue.
I really like how it turned out and maybe I'll keep it or give it to a friend, haven't decided yet! =)

Art With No Boundaries - Anything Goes/Performing Arts Part 2

Part 2 of our  Anything Goes/Performing Arts challenge at Art With No Boundaries are live now!
This time we also got to create with the beautiful Anna Mae Wong who was a chinese/american actress in the 1920's to 1930's! =) Chris Stern, CS Designs, has truly made some amazing art when creating these images! If you click on her name you can see her own creations on her blog!

I made a card with a dark backgroundpaper to make her stand out a little more, added filmstrips to the sides of the image, colored her with promarkers and sew beads onto the flowers in her hair to make them stand out a little more! =)
